Manon Rheaume, who made hockey history when she played in a 1992 NHL exhibition game for Tampa Bay, has been traded from the Knoxville Cherokees to the Nashville Knights.
Both teams, which are in the East Coast Hockey League, are affiliates of the Lightning.
There was no immediate indication whether the change involved anything more than a simple reassignment. However, Rheaume indicated it was a step up.
"I'm very happy with the transaction because I'll be the official second goalie," said Rheaume, who was Knoxville's third-string goalie. "There are only two goalies in Nashville so I have the opportunity to play more often and help the team make the playoffs."
