A 19-year-old man was killed Sunday when he lost control of his 1982 Datsun and hit a concrete wall while driving on Columbus Drive at Tampania Avenue about 1:15 a.m., Tampa Police said. The man's name had not been released Sunday pending notification of relatives.n The right side of the car struck a concrete wall, the car vaulted into the air and flipped onto its roof. The man was ejected through the closed passenger window and was dead at the scene, police said. There were no passengers in the car.
Driver in serious condition after crash
TAMPA _ A 49-year-old man suffered serious head injuries after he lost control of his truck while driving on Eisenhower Boulevard near the Courtney Campbell Parkway about 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Tampa police said. When Michael L. South, of Plant City, lost control of the truck, the truck trailer flipped and dumped construction materials onto the highway. Eisenhower Boulevard was closed for a short time while the debris was cleared from the roadway, police said. The man was taken to Tampa General Hospital where he was listed in serious condition Sunday, police said.
