A 54-year-old woman who allegedly ran a red light was critically injured Sunday afternoon when another car smashed into the passenger side of her 1987 Honda.
Patricia Brown, whose address was unknown late Sunday, was headed south on M.L. King (Ninth) St. N when she reportedly ran a red light at Gandy Boulevard, according to accident investigator Pete Foreman of the St. Petersburg Police Department.
Her car was struck by a Lincoln Continental driven by Martin Rias, 26, of 5614 63rd Lane N, St. Petersburg. Also in the car were his wife, Marie, 22, and their 18-month-old son, Martin Jr.
The three family members were treated for minor injuries at St. Petersburg General Hospital and then released. Brown was flown to Bayfront Hospital by helicopter from the accident scene and was listed in critical condition late Sunday with head injuries.
