Auxiliary will inspect boats for safety

The Coast Guard Auxiliary will examine boats free. U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteers have been taught to examine boats for safety and to make sure they meet state and federal requirements. A Seal of Safety decal will be affixed to boats passing the exam. If your craft fails the examination, no citation is issued, and no report is made to any law enforcement agency. You are advised of deficiencies, and examiners will make recommendations for bringing the boat up to standards. Call the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary at 867-3088.
