GOP gubernatorial candidate Jeb Bush created a new verb in a speech Monday on welfare reform: "We have gotten more of what we have incentivized."
Democrats head to Pinellas
The Democratic convention is coming to Pinellas County. Well, no, not the national convention. After all, Pinellas is still dominated by Republican voters, even if it did go narrowly for Clinton in 1992. Nonetheless, Florida's Young Democrats will hold their state convention at the Holiday Inn Surfside in Clearwater from Aug. 11 through 14, said David Warriner, president of the group. The Hillsborough and Pinellas chapters pitched in to organize the effort, overcoming a bid by Duval County, which also wanted the convention, Warriner said. The convention last year drew about 200 people.
