Emergency workers remove a 7-year-old boy injured Monday morning when a car and van collided in south St. Petersburg. Police said a 1988 Toyota driven by Lillie Haggans, 72, of James Avenue S was going south on 16th Street S at 9:25 a.m. when it was hit by a 1987 Dodge van, going west on 18th Avenue S. Witnesses told police that the van, driven by 51-year-old Linda P. Murillo of Neptune Drive SE, ran a red light. Murillo and Haggans were in serious condition at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. Aaron Deltedesco, 7, who police said was riding without a seat belt in the front seat of Murillo's van, was treated for minor injuries and released from Bayfront. Two girls, Alyssa, 1, and Leah Deltedesco, 4, also were riding in Murillo's van but were not injured.
