Daniel Kovachevich, a retired real estate broker and father of U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Kovachevich, died Monday (Feb. 28, 1994) after a long illness. He was 86.
Mr. Kovachevich, who came here in 1949 from his native Canton, Ill., worked for P. H. Sattler Realty, St. Petersburg, from 1950 into the 1970s. He previously was a coal miner and a home appliance salesman.
He was a member of St. Mary Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
His daughter, a former member of the state Board of Regents and a Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court judge until her 1982 appointment to the federal bench in Tampa, is his sole survivor. His wife of 57 years, Emilie Mary Kuchan Kovachevich, died Feb. 21, 1992.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes, Ninth Street Chapel, 2201 Dr. M.L. King (Ninth St.) N. A rosary will be at 6:30 p.m.
A funeral mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 515 Fourth St. S. The Rev. Thomas Scanlon will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
