DEATHS ELSEWHERE

HENRY H. CLIFFORD, 84, a Western lore collector, died Feb. 21 in Pasadena, Calif. He owned one of only two complete Zamorano 80 collections of distinguished books on early California history. The other complete set is owned by the Frederick W. Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University.

JOSEPHAN N. KARANJA, 63, a former vice president of Kenya and ambassador to Britain, died Monday in Nairobi after a long illness.
