Every Monday and Wednesday evening at Clearwater High School, adults get to play in the wood shop. They make furniture or decorative boxes or turn wooden bowls on a lathe during their three-hour class, using tools they might not have room for at home. Right, Louis Discenza uses a band saw to cut a board for furniture. Above, Ned Frisbie sands a maple bowl he made on a lathe. Below, instructor Dan Bumgarner, at right, helps Frisbie trim a piece of maple for another bowl.
