The Florida Bar and the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division have joined to educate the state's high school seniors about their legal rights and responsibilities when they turn 18. The Law Related Education Committee of The Florida Bar has developed a 22-page informational pamphlet that explains in a no-nonsense format the privileges and legal obligations of adults. More than 100,000 copies of the booklet have been printed and are on the way to every senior in Florida's public high schools. The booklet explains such things as an individual's right to vote, right to file a lawsuit in court, privilege to drive in Florida, right to enter into a contract, rights and protections as a consumer and employee, and rights when arrested. This year's pamphlet also includes a student survey.
