Next week, the City Council will be asked to give another $60,000 to help operate the Coliseum, which already required a $50,000 subsidy this fiscal year. If approved, that will bring the city's contribution this year to the historic dance hall at 535 Fourth Ave. N. to $110,000, which is less than the city has paid in recent years.
During 1993, the city paid $173,000, after it learned in the final weeks of the budget year that the facility was short about $100,000. A year earlier, the city paid a $175,000 subsidy.
City officials say the Coliseum has made progress since a management report was issued last year.
