Four St. Petersburg teenagers were seriously injured Friday while driving to the state's high school basketball championship in Tallahassee, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Christopher Trivigno, 17, of 8125 37th Ave. was driving a 1987 GMC on Interstate 10 near Live Oak in Suwannee County when the GMC hit a semitrailer truck parked in the emergency lane. Trivigno and passenger Nick Muto, 16, were flown to Shands Hospital in Gainesville. Both were listed in critical condition late Friday. Two other passengers _ Laxton Langston, 17, and Jermaine D. Small, 16 _ were flown to University Medical Center in Jacksonville, where they were in fair condition late Friday.
FIRE DESTROYS MERCHANDISE. A fire early Friday gutted an appliance store warehouse and destroyed more than $100,000 worth of merchandise. The showroom at Harbour Appliance & TV, 8010 Grand Blvd. in Port Richey, was undamaged and open for business, said owner Claude Ward. The store's entire stock of television sets was destroyed, Ward said. Much of the inventory was damaged by smoke and soot.
