Oliver Stone plans Noriega film in Panama, reports say

U.S. film director Oliver Stone was reported to be in Panama over the weekend to choose locations for a new movie about former dictator Manuel Noriega.

Sources said Stone was looking at possible sites, including Noriega's old house, and talking to Panamanians about the former strongman's rise and fall.

Noriega ruled Panama from the early 1980s until his ousting in the December 1989 U.S. invasion.

Stone, who focused on conflicts in El Salvador and Vietnam in his movies Salvador, Platoon, and Between Heaven and Earth, reportedly wants Al Pacino to star as Noriega.
