Two Boca Ciega High School students who were injured in a car wreck Friday afternoon remain in critical condition at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, according to a hospital spokesman.
The two were heading to Tallahassee to see the boys basketball team play for the state championship when their car crashed into the back of a semitrailer truck parked in the shoulder of the road near Live Oak.
Christopher Trivigno, 17, of 8125 37th Ave. N, remained unconscious Sunday in the hospital's intensive care unit.
Nick Muto, 16, of 6680 12th Ave. N, had improved slightly and is continuing to stabilize although he was still suffering from some internal bleeding, according to Boca Ciega Principal Barbara Paonessa, who spoke to hospital officials several times Sunday. Two other students in the car were treated for minor injuries and released.
