The Florida Supreme Court agreed last month to review a lawsuit filed by Carrie Young, who accused her grandfather of raping her about 20 years ago. The legal dispute in Young's case involves one portion of a 1992 law involving such litigation. Another portion of the same law dealt with so-called "repressed memory cases." Young's allegations do not involve repressed memory. When the court decides her case, it may or may not rule on the constitutionality of repressed memory lawsuits.
