A 16-year-old boy was in serious condition after he was shot Monday afternoon while standing along Josephine Street. The teenager's name was being withheld, and authorities released only sketchy details about the shooting, which remained under investigation Monday evening. Across the street from the Taurian Experience, a bar on the south side of the city, the victim was hit in the stomach by one of several shots, according to sheriff's Sgt. Marc Rivenbark. He said it was not a drive-by shooting. A family member took the boy to Brooksville Regional Hospital.
Goldman and Associates architectural firm of Brooksville was not a party to the request for a gag order against Hernando school district employees in the district's lawsuit against the contractor and architect for Moton and Deltona elementary schools. A story Saturday was incorrect. Another defendant in the school district's lawsuit, contractor Batson-Cook Associates of Tampa, and its lawyers requested the gag order, which a judge turned down.
