Hank Grant, Boca Ciega basketball: Despite foul trouble, Hank Grant scored 13 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter, to pace the Pirates over Springfield Rutherford 64-63 in a Class 4A state semifinal.

Darren Howard, Boca Ciega basketball: Howard came off the bench Friday to help Boca Ciega to the 4A state title, blocking five shots and recording four rebounds and four points in the Pirates' 63-62 win over Hallandale.

Mike Leach, Osceola baseball: After previously combining on a no-hitter, Leach threw another one, by himself, in beating Dixie Hollins 2-0 last Tuesday.

Ashley Rayl, Seminole softball: A sophomore, Rayl threw a five-inning no-hitter to lead the Warhawks over Pinellas Park 10-0. She struck out 10.

Zack Roper, Tarpon Springs baseball: Roper went 4-for-6 last week with two doubles, a triple and four runs scored to lead the Spongers to two victories. A sophomore, Roper is batting .630.
