DEATHS

PAUL SERGIOS, 32, an author, filmmaker and crusader in AIDS research, died Sunday in Davie, in southeast Florida, from AIDS complications. Mr. Sergios was active in a successful effort to expedite U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval of new drugs for life-threatening diseases. He helped to gain legal access to promising drugs before they were approved. His account of that struggle, One Boy at War, My Life in the AIDS Underground, was published by Alfred A. Knopf in April 1993.
