UF, FSU lacrosse teams to play in Crystal River

High dive: ABC Television's Wide World of Sports will telecast the men's and women's World High Dive Championships scheduled for March 26-27 at Silver Springs in Ocala.

The competition has not been held since 1983, and was last hosted by Silver Springs in 1977.

More than 30 of the top men and 10 of the top women have agreed to perform, including athletes from the United States, Russia, France, Spain and Canada. Championship dives will be performed at 60, 70, and 80 feet for women, 80, 90 and 100 feet for men.

Demonstration dives, to be held April 2-3, will reach 130 feet.

Admission will be included in the regular park admission price.

Tennis: Mattie Smouse of Spring Hill and Ora Willams of Hudson are tied for first place in the Brooksville Deuces Ladies Doubles League. A five-way tie for second-place includes Susan Yason, Terry Guerrero, Lydia Babasa, Doreen Chan and Vivien Amabile.

Eleven teams are competing in the Nature Coast Ladies Daylight Team League. To date, Brooksville and C.R. Racketeers are tied for first, followed by Beacon Woods and Sugarmill Woods Oak.
