Local winners in the 10th annual Golden Rule Awards sponsored by J.C. Penney Co. have been announced.
Robert A. Bareiss of New Port Richey was among the top winners. He received a Waterford crystal frame and a check for $1,000 to Probationers Educational Growth, the organization he represented.
In addition to the top 19 awards, 40 finalists in the awards program were presented Certificates of Merit and $250 donations to their organizations on behalf of J.C. Penney Co.
In Pasco County, the finalists were East Pasco Meals on Wheels of Zephyrhills; Judge Lynn Tepper, Probationers Educational Growth, Dade City; Silent Dinner Committee, Deaf Service Center of Pasco County in New Port Richey; and Judy Buck, Deaf Service Center of Pasco County, New Port Richey.
The Golden Rule Award Program for 1995 has been changed. The deadline for submitting nominations is March 10. Winners will be announced in April.
