Cubs' shuffle adds Riggleman to list

The Chicago Cubs named a new manager for the 12th time in 11 years, hiring San Diego's Jim Riggleman.

In the past six weeks, the Cubs have hired a president, general manager and field manager. "We have our ducks in a row," president Andy MacPhail said.

Riggleman worked with new Cubs general manager Ed Lynch in the Padres' farm system.

The Padres promoted third base coach Bruce Bochy to manager.

The Reds gave Davey Johnson another year as manager and hired ex-Royals manager Hal McRae as batting coach.

The players filed a grievance seeking free-agency for 11.
