THE FISH REPORT

Tom Rittenhouse of Brooksville caught this unusual, 26-inch rabbit fish at the mouth of the Homosassa River on a float and Love's Lure. He said the species was considered a delicacy in the Biscayne Bay area of Dade County in the 1920s and '30s and as such was netted to near extinction.

Peter Kanaris, 15, caught this 35-inch, 12-pound snook while fishing at night around Green Key Beach. If you have caught a big or unusual fish, or someone you know has, send a photograph and we'll try to publish it here. If you live in Citrus or Hernando counties, send it to the Times, c/o Joanne Korth, Times Square Shopping Center, 3822 E. Gulf to Lake Highway, Inverness, FL 34453.
