Place mats are crocheted from strips to match rag rug

Have you ever tried crocheting with fabric strips? Several months ago, we featured a semi-circular fringed rug crocheted from precut fabric strips, which was such a hit with our readers that we've come up with a set of four place mats made from the same material in a narrower width.

You'll be pleasantly surprised at how quickly and easily you can create this set of beautiful and practical mats with a size N hook (or any size you need for a gauge of 2 double crochets per inch) and 1-inch wide strips of printed cotton percale. The finished size is 12 by 18 inches

To obtain directions for making the Rag Place Mats, send your request for Leaflet No. Z-101694 with $2 and a long, stamped, self-addressed envelope to: Trexler Designs, Dept. 123200, P.O. Box 419148, Kansas City, Mo. 64141. Or you may order Kit No. C-101694 by sending a check or money order for $19.95 to Trexler Designs at the same address. Kit price includes shipping charges, full instructions, precut fabric strips and a size N crochet hook. Please specify your choice of pastel tones or deep tones.
