Police arrested a Tarpon Springs woman Saturday night after they said she made several false phone calls to the emergency 911 phone line. Barbara Moore, 48, of 715 E Lime St. was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, damage to city property and making harassing 911 phone calls, police said. According to a police report, Moore began making non-emergency calls to 911 from her home around 10:30 p.m. Saturday. In an hour, she called the emergency line seven times. Tarpon Springs police Officer L. D. Allen came to Moore's home and warned against making more false calls. As soon as the officer left, Moore called 911 twice more, police said. Officers returned to arrest her.
Moore became belligerent and kicked the left rear window of the police car while being transported to jail. When Allen tried to restrain Moore, she kicked the officer in the face and in the arm, police said. Moore was being held at the Pinellas County Jail on Sunday in lieu of $6,000 bail.
