Simpson judge says no
The request was enough to make Judge Lance Ito wince. Marcia Clark, a prosecutor in the O.J. Simpson trial, wanted to dismiss the entire 300-member jury pool.
Clark's reasoning: Prospective jurors, if they weren't tainted last week _ when she and other attorneys candidly questioned their trustworthiness _ certainly are tainted now. Transcripts of that closed-door talk, featuring Clark's comment that "many, if not most" are lying in hopes of a jury spot, were made public last week.
Ito dismissed Monday's request. But he agreed to consider her follow-up request: Sequester the lot of them, once the jury is seated.
