Man hurt in crash on SR 52 dies

A 69-year-old Hudson man died Tuesday morning from injuries he suffered in a car accident Friday on State Road 52. Joseph F. Broderick, address unavailable, was flown to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg after the accident. Broderick died there at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The pickup's driver, 24-year-old Randall Larry Jonas, of U.S. 41, wasn't hurt. His passenger, 51-year-old Larry Jonas, also of U.S. 41, was treated at a hospital. His condition was unavailable Tuesday. No one was charged in the accident.

Tanker leaks gas; highway closes

WESLEY CHAPEL _ Gasoline leaking from a tanker truck closed the northbound lane of Interstate 75 for about 45 minutes Monday night. Firefighters were called to the scene near the I-75 rest area about 9:35 p.m., said District Chief Chris Alland of Pasco County Fire-Rescue. Members of the Hillsborough County Hazardous Materials Team were called in to remove the contaminated dirt.

Ticket information for the Angel "garden cafe" Theatre's production of All Aboard for Broadway was inadvertently omitted from Tuesday's review. Helping the Elderly with Legal Problems, or HELP, is a volunteer program that gives free legal advice to Pasco residents over the age of 60 and is held regularly at the Claude Pepper Senior Center in New Port Richey. Those who wish to make reservations, however, should not call the center itself but the Alzheimer's Association of West Central Florida, which has an office at the center. A sports page item Friday used the word "viciously" to describe the way Ridgewood High's Stephanie Barndollar finished a cross-country race last season. It was a poor choice of words. The intent was to describe the aggressive manner in which Barndollar edged another runner for fourth place.
