HILLSBOROUGH OBITUARIES

COLBATH, ELLEN E., 63, of Plant City, died Friday (Oct. 21, 1994) in Brandon. She was born in Ashland, Maine, and came here in 1958 from Haverhill, Mass. She was a cook at Fat Willie's Fish Camp, Valrico, for 16{ years. Survivors include a son, Raymond "Hoss," and a daughter, Darlene Himelright, both of Plant City; a brother, Eben Mills, Ashland; a sister, Caroline Mitchell, Burnham, Maine; and a grandchild. FOUTS, DARRELL E., 68, of Tampa, died Wednesday (Oct. 26, 1994) at home. He was born in Springfield, Ill., and came here 41 years ago from Canton, Ill. He was a jailer for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God and the National Rifle Association. Survivors include his wife, Florence; a son, Randall D., Tampa; two daughters, Patricia Lynn Nelson and Cheryl Sue Jasper, both of Tampa; a brother, Harlan, Tampa; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. GOTTESFELD, GOLDIE, 86, of Tampa, died Wednesday (Oct. 26, 1994) in Tampa. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and came here two years ago from Hollywood, Fla. She was a homemaker and was Jewish. Survivors include two sons, Leonard, Wesley Chapel, and Walter, Hillsdale, N.J.; a brother, Frederick Berns, Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Marsi-cano-B. WOLFBRANDT, MARIA L. "MARY," 90, of Valrico, died Tuesday (Oct. 25, 1994) at home. She was born in Stuttgart, Germany, and came here in 1922. She was a homemaker and a Lutheran. HARLACHER, DOROTHY M., 75, of Tampa, died Wednesday (Oct. 26, 1994) at Hillhaven Rehabilitation Center, Tampa. She was born in Worcester, Mass., and came here 37 years ago from New Jersey. She was a supermarket cashier. Survivors include her husband, William; a son, Robert, St. Petersburg; a daughter, Judy Dees, Tampa; a brother, Robert Berchtold, Ocean City, N.J.; two sisters, Betty Sass, Joliet, Ill., and Priscilla, Haddon Heights, N.J.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. LAMB, MARY, 83, of Tampa, died Tuesday (Oct. 25, 1994) at Wheeling, W.Va., at Vencor Hospital-Tampa. She was born in Wheeling, W.Va., and came here in 1950 from New Mexico. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, Lawson C., Tampa; three sisters, Wanda Rhein, Cleveland, Stephanie Wegrzyn, Park City, Ill., and Mildred Yankus, Wauwatosa, Wis.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. LYLE, DONALD L., 49, of Tampa, died Tuesday (Oct. 25, 1994) at Brandon Hospital. He was born in Sylacauga, Ala., and lived here most of his life. He was a sheet metal worker and an Army veteran. Survivors include two sons, Wayne Jennings and Donald Richard, both of Tampa; four brothers, Anthony, Steve, Jeffrey and Daniel, all of Tampa; and two sisters, Barbara Shrum, Jupiter, and Teresa Lyle, Tampa. McKEAN, MARGARET E., 84, of Tampa, died Sunday (Oct 23, 1994) in Tampa. She was born in New York City and came here in 1944 from Arizona. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Survivors include two nieces and a nephew, Joan Maltz, Colebrook, Conn., and Eileen Maltz and Donald Curly, both of New York City. PAXTON, MELVIN HERMAN, 79, of Tampa, died Tuesday (Oct. 25, 1994) at St. Joseph's Hospital, Tampa. He was born in Evansville, Ind., and came here in 1940. He owned and operated Paxton Hardware and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He was an Air Force veteran. Survivors include his wife, Marion; a brother, Bill Reams, Conyers, Ga.; three daughters, Ann Griffin, Donna Watson and Gwen Hughes, all of Tampa; and five grandchildren. PLAZZA, FRANCESCO, 72, of Lutz, died Wednesday (Oct. 26, 1994) in Lutz. He was born in Alessandria della Rocca, Sicily, and came here in 1976. He was co-owner of Tile World of Italy. He was a member of L'Unione Italiana and St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Caterina Centinaro; four sons, Mario, Stefano, Joe and Gian Paul, all of Lutz; a brother, Benedetto, Palermo, Sicily; and five grandchildren. ROBERTS, SYLVIA WALKER MAYS, 56, of Tampa, died Wednesday (Oct. 26, 1994) at home. She was born in Corbin, Ky., and came here in 1981 from Cincinnati. She was a surgical technician and a member of the Association of Surgical Technologists and St. Clement's Episcopal Church. Survivors include three daughters, Laura M. Nortman, Cheviot, Ohio, Kelly Sharp, Tampa, and Cindy Cronin, Astoria, Ore.; her mother, Arie McNeil, Corbin; three brothers, Ross Mays, Marengo, Ill., and J. SMITH, DAVID HARRIS, 87, of Lutz, died Wednesday (Oct. 26, 1994) at home. He was born in Arbroath, Scotland, and came here 11 months ago from New Castle, Pa. He was a chemist for Westinghouse Corp. Survivors include a son, David James, New Castle; two daughters, Sandra Jean Willis, Lutz, and Mildred Proctor, New Stanton, Pa.; a sister, Mary Aroy, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
