Land O'Lakes rushed for a season-high 323 yards, scoring on four of its five possessions to run past Sunshine Athletic Conference rival Ridgewood 27-7.
"That's Land O'Lakes football," Gator coach John Benedetto said.
Land O'Lakes (3-5, 2-2) featured eight ball-carriers. Seven Gators ran the football on a time-consuming drive in the first quarter.
Senior Kennis Riggins, who rushed for a game-high 89 yards, capped the 74-yard march with a 2-yard touchdown run.
Ridgewood (2-6, 2-3) scored its only points of the game just 36 seconds before halftime. Chris Barbee finished a 10-play, 73-yard drive with a 4-yard scoring run.
The key play of the game came moments after the Rams forced the Gators' only point. Rhett Hierlmeier picked off a pass from Shane McCann, who completed 9-of-11 for 120 yards to set up his own 3-yard bootleg into the end zone on a fourth-and-1 play.
"I just had a feeling they would be stacked up in the middle," Benedetto said. "Rhett's got real good speed and I thought he could outrun the corner."
He did, high-stepping into the right corner of the end zone after faking an inside handoff to Riggins.
Ridgewood put together a long drive in the fourth quarter, with McCann completing three passes for 35 yards, but middle linebacker Chad Davis forced a Ray Wilken fumble and David Starling pounced on the loose ball for Land O'Lakes.
Teddy Pennington rushed for two touchdowns, his fourth and fifth of the season.
