Oct. 29, 1991 _ Three members of the group Pink Floyd are injured during an auto race in Mexico when their car rolls down an embankment. They are guitarists Steve O'Rourke and Dave Gilmour and drummer Nick Mason. 1987 _ Influential big band conductor Woody Herman dies of cardiac arrest. He was awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award earlier in the year. 1971 _ Guitarist Duane Allman is killed when he crashes his motorcycle in Macon, Ga. 1932 _ The Big Bopper (J.P. Richardson) is born in Sabine Pass, Texas.
