Today's topic: Adopt-a-pet

Since Oct. 1, 93 animals have been adopted from Citrus County Animal Control, 26 during the week ending 10/26. Today's featured pet is Baby, a 5-year-old, female, tan and white Staffordshire terrier mix. Included among the many other animals available for adoption is a 2-year-old, brindle, female chow/boxer mix; a 3-month-old, black male dachshund mix; a 2-month-old, gray merle and white, male catahoula/Dalmation mix; a 7-month-old, white and black male, Dalmation, and a 3-month-old, cream, male husky mix. Among the cats available for adoption is Beau, 3-month-old male domestic longhair; Cali, a 6-month-old, female calico domestic shorthair, and Oreo, a 2-month-old blck and white female domestic longhair. The shelter has a large number of older animals available for adoption. It is at the end of Airport Road in Inverness. Normal shelter adoption and claim hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 3 p.m. Saturday. Call 726-7660.
