Adventure story links centuries

Who: Nagarian McKinnon, 12, seventh grade, Tyrone Middle School

What: The Secret of the Indian, by Lynne Reid (Avon Camelot Books, $3.99)

The plot: This book is one of a series and is a time travel story. It takes place in England in the present time. A boy named Omri and his friend, Patrick, were forced to share a secret with Patrick's cousin, Emma, because she has some figures they need.

They brought back a cyclone that happened in the 19th century. Emma has the key to survival. They have a magic medicine chest. By turning a magic key, Omri can produce a cyclone and it threatens England.

There are American Indians in the 19th century that also were in the same cyclone in that time. They have to send figures back into time to stop the cyclone from happening to the Indians so that it won't happen to them in this time.

Nagarian's rating: I like time travel and magic. I read the first book, too.
