One person was killed and three others slightly injured in a three-car accident Friday night on Interstate 4 east of Orient Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Elouise Tucker, 60, of 3510 N 35th St., Tampa, died after the car she was driving westbound on I-4 was clipped by a car driven by Valerie Lynn Davis, 23, of Tampa as she attempted to enter the roadway. Tucker's car went out of control, crossed the median and hit a car driven by Todd Lance, 19, of Clearwater. Tucker died at the scene, and Davis, Lance and a passenger in Lance's car were taken to area hospitals, where they were treated and released. No charges have been filed.
Two hurt in drive-by shooting
TAMPA _ Two men were injured Sunday night in a drive-by shooting, Tampa Police reports said. Otis Marcelino House, 24, and Rodger Bush, 26, were standing at the southwest corner of N 20th Street and 23rd Avenue about 7:06 p.m. when a car heading south on N 20th approached, reports said. Five or six shots were fired from the passenger window, striking House in the leg and Bush in the lower back. The car then continued south on N 20th Street. Late Sunday, police had no suspects in the shooting. House and Bush were treated and released from Tampa General Hospital, a nursing supervisor said.
