Cyclones extend win streak to eight

Adrian Bush scored two goals and assisted on another as the Tampa Bay Cyclones extended their United States International Soccer League winning streak to eight games Friday night with a 4-1 victory over the Orlando Lions at the USF Soccer Stadium.

Bush, who starred at Hillsborough High and on the 1994 University of Tampa NCAA Division II national championship team, took a pass from Mario Yepes in the 17th minute and powered a 10-yard left-footer past goalie Scott Foster.

Derek Backman scored his fifth goal in four games at 27:50 when Mike Heald fed Bush along the goal line and Bush centered to Backman in front of the net.

Bush added his second goal in the eighth minute of the second half when he punched in a header off a feed by Oswaldo Ortiz. The Lions (3-9) ended goalkeeper David Winner's shutout less than a minute later on a goal by Todd Pettigrew. Riquelme Caicedo, making his first appearance for the Cyclones (9-3), scored an unassisted goal with 20 seconds remaining.
