Scott Samuels' two-run home run capped a five-run ninth inning and led the National League over the American League 7-3 Saturday night in the 34th Florida State League All-Star Game at Charlotte County Stadium.
The National League last won the All-Star Game in 1993 at St. Petersburg's Al Lang Stadium. Last year, the American League won 5-4 at Port St. Lucie.
Dunedin's Adam Melhuse hit a two-out homer in the top of the ninth to give the AL a short-lived 3-2 lead.
But back-to-back run-scoring doubles by Tim Forkner, who had a game-high three hits, and Brendan Kingman, along with Jason Maxwell's run-scoring single, preceded Samuels' homer.
The NL took a 2-0 lead in the fourth on a double by Clearwater's Dan Held and Kingman's run-scoring single.
Sean Freeman hit a run-scoring single and scored on a passed ball in the seventh as the AL tied the score at 2.
Rich Humphrey earned the win with 1 innings of scoreless relief. Bucky Buckles was the loser.
