Riverview man claims killing

A 41-year-old Riverview man walked into the Hillsborough Sheriff's Office on Monday night and confessed to killing a man.

Teodolfo Perez, 41, of 12002 Edgeknoll Drive was charged with first-degree murder in the May 26 slaying of 17-year-old Benito Danean of Wimauma. Sheriff's spokesman Jack Espinosa said Perez offered no motive.

Stolen meat

SPRING HILL _ A thief tried to keep stolen meat in his pants, but he lost the take during a chase, a Hernando sheriff's report said.

A Winn-Dixie official chased the man when he passed registers without paying, the report says. The man moved the beef tenderloin from his buggy to his pants, but it fell as he ran. He has not been found.
