American Legion Post 335, Auxiliary install new officers

American Legion Post 335 and Auxiliary will install new officers Saturday during ceremonies at the post home, 11421 Osceola Drive, New Port Richey.

James Price will be installed as commander; Carl Wright, first vice commander; Lenny DeLong, second vice commander; Bert DeLong, finance officer; Stan Greer, historian; Michael Solimando, chaplain; John Ruffer, sergeant-at-arms; Ronald C. Grimpe, judge advocate; and Charles Plantamura, Joseph Trowbridge, Bill Heck, Carol Gmitter, Bill Gratz and Phil Raush, executive committee members.

Sharon Price will be installed as president of the Auxiliary. She will be assisted by Alam Whitman, first vice president; Marie Fickeria, second vice president; Ellie Cole, secretary; Lois DeLong, treasurer; Patti Reardon, chaplain; Alice Greer, historian; Sandra Butz, sergeant-at-arms; and Mary "Bunny" Cretors, Eleanor Trowbridge and Eleanor Gratz, executive board members.

Jim Parks, 16th District commander, and Michelle "Mike" DeFluiter, area district president, will be the installing officers.

March on Art committee

honors member service

Jan Mallett and Joe Rentscher, members of the March on Art committee recently were honored for their devoted service to the ongoing excellence of the show.

Jan Mallett, an art teacher at Deer Park Elementary School, served on the committee three years and continues to assist on the viewing committee. She has worked on the annual artist's party and the jury committee and as a judge's host.

Rentscher, a local artist and president of the West Pasco Art Guild, has been a committee participant since the show's inception in 1991. His responsibilities included show layout, assisting on the jury committee and distribution of T-shirts and posters.

Others serving on the committee are Karen Stockwell of State Farm Insurance; Sally Bedrosian, Lauren Crandon and David Schrader of FirstSouth Bank; Cathryn Ann Rowdon of First Call for Help; Joe Russo and Shirley Miller of North Bay Medical Center; Vickie Chansler of TCI Cablevision; Allyson Hughes, attorney; Christina Roddey of A. G. Edwards and Sons; and Linda Bragg of the Pasco County Library System. Marilynn deChant of the New Port Richey Community Cooperative is the committee chairwoman.
