City police Wednesday charged a nurse with stealing controlled narcotics from the nursing home where she worked. Barbara Jean Bolding, 44, of 27495 Magnon Drive in Istachatta is accused of stealing 16 doses of Roxicet, a narcotic, from a medicine cabinet at Heartland of Brooksville nursing home. According to police reports, she admitted taking the drugs and selling them for $15 in the parking lot of the Speedway service station on S Broad Street. She told police she needed money to feed her son. Roxicet is a generic name for the drug commonly known as Percoset. It is illegal to possess it without a prescription. Bolding was being held in the Hernando County Jail on Thursday in lieu of $1,000 bail. The nursing home is owned by Health Care and Retirement Corp. of Toledo, Ohio. A spokeswoman for the company would not comment on the incident.
