Britons sizzle

Many people wouldn't call it a heat wave; Britons are calling it "flaming June."

The temperature here Friday reached 88 degrees, the hottest June day since 1976.

And there was no relief to be had in Trafalgar Square's famous fountains, which were turned off for restorations.

In parts of Scotland, workers covered roads with gravel to prevent the tar from melting.

It should cool off today.
