Pastor Roy Lidbom of Faith Lutheran Church in New Port Richey announces that 11 of the church youth will attend the National Lutheran Youth Gathering Sunday through Thursday in San Antonio, Texas. "River of Light" is the theme of the gathering which is expected to draw more than 27,000 Lutheran youth.
Making the trip are senior counselor, Rose Ann Verheyen, Nicole Backstrom, Kristen Keon, Sharon Everding, William Kumley, Jason Graves, Matthew Graves and Misty Meyer, Lawrence DeBlasi, Dino Gallina, Aimee Halleen, and Shane Verheyen. In Texas, the youth will work in construction and on repair projects, do outreach evangelism and participate in environmental workshops.
The Rev. Terrell T. Kirk of Dunedin will be the celebrant and will preach at the 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday services at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 15801 U.S. 19. Kirk is filling in for the Rev. W. Thomas Leckrone who is on vacation. Kirk was ordained priest in 1962 and has served several Episcopal churches in Florida and Rhode Island. He was rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Dunedin from 1968 through 1991 when he retired from active status.

All Souls United Episcopal Church is now meeting at the Morgan Funeral Home, 6025 Trouble Creek Road in New Port Richey. All Souls is a continuing Episcopal church which maintains an all-male ordained ministry and the use of the 1928 Book of Common Prayer. Sunday Morning Prayer, the equivalent of Sunday School, is scheduled at 9:45 a.m. The event is for inquirers and it will be followed by short selections from the office of instruction.
