Records: Tampa Bay 4-2, Memphis 4-2.
Eyeing the Storm: Ivan Caesar leads all Arena League rushers with 29 carries for 143 yards and seven touchdowns. But with DL Deatrich Wise (knee) out for the season and natural FBs Cedric McKinnon and Tony Jones recovered from injuries, Caesar has been practicing on the line and is expected to play there tonight. DBs Tracy Sanders (shoulder) and Wayne Williams (elbow) are likely to be deactivated, making room in the lineup for WR/DB Tony Harris. Former University of Miami OL Kelvin Harris, brought in on a tryout basis this week, will not be activated. Former West Virginia WR Grantis Bell makes his Storm debut. Jorge Cimadevilla is tied for the league lead in points by a kicker with 51.
About Memphis: Ex-Storm WR/DB Bret Cooper, formerly of Central Florida, earned Ironman honors for Memphis with four catches and two tackles last week. Former Storm RB/LB Robert Lyles is playing regularly for the Pharaohs. Memphis, an expansion team, has allowed the fewest yards in the league, 1,275. Marcus Dupree, a star RB at Oklahoma, is on Memphis' reserve roster while trying to shed extra pounds and return to playing shape. Dupree seriously injured a knee in a USFL game in 1985, then played two seasons (1990-91) for the Los Angeles Rams. He recently worked on the pro wrestling circuit in Tennessee. Memphis re-signed former Mississippi LB Cassius Ware on Thursday.
