Workshops, home models featured

Coldwell Banker sales associates in West Central Florida have raised $16,000 since April to build three homes for Habitat for Humanity. The 19 offices have a goal of $105,000. Funds have been raised through such activities as comedy nights, fashion shows, car washes and chowder lunches, as well as donations from current and prospective clients and from sales associates.

The Shores of Long Bayou, a condominium community overlooking Lake Seminole, Long Bayou and Boca Ciega Bay in Pinellas County, was scheduled to hold its groundbreaking Friday. The units have two or three bedrooms and two baths and range in price from $99,900 to $135,900. The sales office is open Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays noon to 5 p.m. Take Seminole Boulevard (Alt. 19) south to 66th Avenue N. M/I Homes has opened its Corsica model in Bristol Green, a neighborhood in the golf course community of Bloomingdale in southeast Hillsborough. The home has four bedrooms, three baths, a three-car garage and 2,558 square feet of living space. The model is priced at $197,900. Homes in the neighborhood are priced from $157,500 including homesite.

The model is open Mondays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. Directions: From U.S. Highway 301 and Bloomingdale Avenue in southeast Hillsborough, go east on Bloomingdale, then turn south on Bell Shoals to the entrance into Bloomingdale. Murphy Custom Homes has opened its Lexington II model in the village of Aylesford at Lansbrook in North Pinellas. The two-story home has four bedrooms, three baths and a three-car garage in 2,775 square feet of living space and is priced from $223,000 including homesite.

The model is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. Lansbrook is on the west side of East Lake Road north of Tampa Road in north Pinellas. More information: 787-5410.

M. Pete McNabb Inc. of Sarasota County has been named 1995 Arthur Rutenberg Homes Builder of the Year from among 33 franchisees in Florida and southern Alabama.

The award goes to the builder demonstrating best overall construction quality, financial management, people and organizational development, marketing strategy, customer satisfaction, and contribution to the Rutenberg franchise system. In 1991 and 1994 McNabb earned the Builder of the Year award for M. Pete McNabb Inc. of Manatee County.
