$65,000 raised for Sun Coast Hospital

(ran SE edition of LT)

Supporters of Sun Coast Hospital Foundation raised $65,000 at its fifth-annual black-tie gala Stars Fantastique May 13 at the Hyatt Regency Westshore in Tampa.

The money is to be donated to the Largo hospital's surgical intensive care unit.

At the event, which included a silent auction, casino, live auction, dinner and dancing, foundation member Bruce McManus of Largo received the 1995 Alan J. Snider Trustee of the Year award.

The award, named after the hospital's founder, is to honor dedication and commitment to the community.

McManus, an estate planning and probate lawyer with McManus and McManus in Largo, is an eight-year board member, a 32-year resident of Largo and a graduate of Stetson University College of Law. He also earned a master's degree in business administration from University of South Florida.

He is a past president of Pinellas County Estate Planning Council and the Community Service Foundation and a member of the American, Florida and Clearwater bar associations.
