Tampa Fire Rescue personnel plucked a woman from a communications tower at 8235 N Nebraska Ave. about 8 p.m. Saturday. Two firefighters passed the woman, who fainted while trying to climb down, to other rescue workers on a platformed ladder truck. Passers-by noticed the woman about 7:30 p.m. and flagged down police. Traffic on N Nebraska was blocked from Bird Street to E Juneau Street for more than 30 minutes. The incident occurred across the street from the Tampa Greyhound Track on the season's opening night. The crowd below cheered when the woman was taken to safety. Tampa police, who did not release the woman's name, said she was admitted at Tampa General Hospital under the Baker Act.
