Pagers becoming the must-have gadget of the '90s

More than 27-million Americans now use pagers and wireless messaging services to communicate.

Originally introduced as a business tool, the procedure of paging has grown to become a familiar part of American domestic life.

Last year, according to a recent industry study, 40 percent of users spent more time messaging kids, spouses and parents than their customers, clients or the boss. That was up from 23 percent in 1993.
