Authorities were still searching Saturday for a St. Petersburg felon who escaped from an inmate work squad near Ocala last week.
Lowell N. Abrams, 28, serving a 10-year sentence for robbery and cocaine possession, was working along a road in McIntosh, a small town north of Ocala, when he slipped away Thursday.
Marion County sheriff's deputies think Abrams may be driving a stolen red Pontiac Grand Am with license tag QBT 82K.
Abrams, who is white, 5-7 and 163 pounds with brown hair and eyes, was serving time at Marion Correctional Institution, a state prison in Lowell. He was sentenced in 1994.
