Couples celebrate their anniversaries

Gene and Esther Bandy of Clearwater celebrated their 50th anniversary with a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico, a trip to San Francisco and a party at Spring Lake clubhouse in Clearwater. The couple were married June 21, 1946, in Springfield, Ohio, where they moved here from in 1982. Both retired as teachers in Springfield. The Bandys have two daughters and three grandchildren.

Fred C. and Lois Bolton of Clearwater celebrated their 65th anniversary July 14 with an open house in Clearwater. The couple, both Florida natives, were married July 16, 1931, in Tampa and have lived many years in Clearwater, where he owned Fred Bolton's TV and Radio Shop and serviced traffic light controllers for the city's traffic department. The Boltons have two sons, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Forest and Leatrice Giffin of Palm Harbor plan to celebrate their 50th anniversary this summer in Toledo, Ohio. The couple were married June 22, 1946, in Toledo and came here in 1970 from Perrysburg, Ohio. He worked as a real estate broker. The Giffinsare members of Lutheran Church of the Palms in Palm Harbor and have five children and seven grandchildren.

Charles and Dorothy Harbaugh of Clearwater celebrated their 50th anniversary May 18 with a renewal of their vows and reception at Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church in Clearwater. The couple were married May 18, 1946, in South Bend, Ind., and came here in 1963 from Montpelier, Ohio. He worked as a medical technologist and she worked as a nurse at Mease Hospital. He is a member of National Association of Woodturners and West Coast Woodturners Club. She is a member of Clearwater China Painters Club. The Harbaughs have four daughters and six grandchildren.

Charles and Norris Horton of Largo recently celebrated their 50th anniversary with a cruise and party given by their son and daughter-in-law. The couple were married June 30, 1946, in Winston-Salem, N.C., and came here in 1975 from Lockport, N.Y. He retired from N.Y. Telephone Co. Both are Army veterans of World War II.

Ted and Dorothy Peppel of Seminole celebrated their 50th anniversary June 22 with a renewal of their vows, a reception and a train trip from Toronto to Vancouver, British Columbia. The couple were married June 22, 1946, in Rutherford, N.J., and came here in 1957 from Westwood, N.J. He retired after 34 years as an accountant for E-Systems. She was a leader and trainer 25 years for Suncoast Girl Scout Council. He is a volunteer and she is a choir member at Pasadena Community Church in St. Petersburg. The Peppels have one child and two grandchildren.

Eugene and Jerry Reilly of Largo recently celebrated their 50th anniversary with a surprise party given by their children in Danbury, Conn. The couple were married June 15, 1946, at St. Patrick's Church in El Paso, Texas, and came here in 1989 from Lynbrook, N.Y. He owned an investigative company in New York. The Reillys have four children, 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
