Yedo, Buchanan pace Yanks

The Tampa Yankees exploded for 18 hits but needed two runs in the eighth inning for a 7-6 victory over the Charlotte Rangers Sunday at Legends Field.

Carlos Yedo and Brian Buchanan generated most of the Yankees' offense. Yedo went 4-for-5 with two RBI and scored a run. Buchanan went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, an RBI and three runs.

WEST PALM BEACH 8, CLEARWATER 0: Tommy Greene's second start during injury rehabilitation lasted five innings as he gave up three runs _ one earned _ on six hits for the host Phillies. He struck out two and walked one.

Four Expos _ Hiram Bocachica, Francisco Morales, Josh Brinkley and Matt Haas _ had two hits.

Ahead 3-0, the Expos added their other runs in the seventh inning. Mike Giardi started the scoring with a two-run homer.
