Detectives say woman told false tale of home invasion

A 39-year-old woman who lives east of Brooksville fabricated a story about burglars coming into her home and tying her up at gunpoint, authorities said Monday. Judy Blue told Hernando sheriff's deputies in June that when she opened an outside door, two men with pantyhose on their heads burst inside, pushed her to the ground and threatened her life. After investigating, sheriff's detectives determined that Blue had lied; she told investigators she was suffering from emotional problems. Sheriff's spokeswoman Deanna Dammer said Blue will not be charged with filing a false report because of her emotional state. Authorities are continuing to investigate a second home invasion that was reported in Masaryktown about 21 hours after Blue's report.
