2 dancers, manager charged with violating nudity ordinance

In a routine check on adult entertainment establishments, Pinellas County sheriff's deputies arrested two exotic dancers and a club manager Monday afternoon on charges of nudity in an establishment that serves alcohol.

The arrests occurred at the Dancer's Show Club, 3860 Ulmerton Road.

Arrested were dancers Valencia Renee Smith, 29, of 631 76th Ave. N, St. Petersburg, and Deborah Ann Vanappledorn, 33, of 2842 15th Ave. N, St. Petersburg, and manager David Lee Kuhlow, 46, of 1966 Sutherland Drive, Palm Harbor. The manager was charged with nudity because he allowed nudity violations in his business, sheriff's spokeswoman Marianne Pasha said. Kuhlow was clothed, she said.

Smith also was charged with engaging in a prohibited act for allegedly performing a private dance and making contact with a male customer, Pasha said.

Kuhlow also was charged with a violation of the adult use code.

A county ordinance prohibits nude dancing in clubs that serve alcohol.
