Thomas Bopp, a shareholder with the law firm of Fowler, White, Gillen, Boggs, Villareal and Banker, has been re-elected to the Hillsborough County Bar Association Board of Directors for a two-year term. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and his law degree from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University.

Karen Simon, formerly director of transportation for the Tampa Downtown Partnership, has formed her own consulting firm, Simon Resources Inc. She will specialize in transportation demand management, economic analyses, planning and development studies. Simon earned her master's degree from the University of Tampa.

Harold L. Sebring III has joined the law firm of Bavol, Bush and Sisco as a litigation associate. He earned his bachelor's degree in criminology from Florida State University and his law degree from Stetson University College of Law.

Matthew S. Mudano of the law firm of Yerrid, Knopik and Valenzuela has earned the designation of board certified civil trial lawyer from the Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education.

Matthew R. Costa, a Tampa native, has joined Foley and Lardner's Tampa office as an associate in the business law department. He will practice securities and general corporate law. Costa earned his bachelor's degree in history from Yale University and his law degree from Northwestern University Law School.

Shannon Yurcus has been promoted to service center manager at the Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union at the North Tampa location, 14990 N Florida Ave.

Ann McKeel Ross, a member of the board of trustees of the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, has joined the center as vice president of advancement. Ross has been associated with the University of South Florida as a student, volunteer or employee since the school's opening in 1960 and has received numerous arts awards, including the Arts Recognition Award for the state of Florida.

Irene Hurst, assistant director for the University of South Florida's Small Business Development Center, received the Excalibur Award at the Florida Small Business Development Center Annual Professional Development Conference. She earned her master's degree in business administration from the University of South Florida.

Jeff Albinson, a shareholder with the Clearwater law firm of Albinson and Persante, has been appointed to serve a third consecutive term on the Aviation Law Committee for the Florida Bar.

John T. Mazzola, general manager of the USF Sun Dome, has been invited by the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games to serve as an assistant venue manager for event services for the Lake Lanier Olympic Venue in Gainesville, Ga.

The venue is a dual venue, hosting competition and training for canoe/kayak sprints and rowing.

The Prudential Florida Realty's top listing and selling associates for May are Dave Plowman, top lister and seller for Brandon; Cindy Sper, top lister and seller for Carrollwood; Jeanne Wolfe, top lister and seller for Davis Island; Carole Bruening top lister and Jeanne Zylstra top seller for Northeast; and Robert Anderson, top lister and Brenda Korhn top seller for Westshore.

Cynthia Dunn has been honored for five years of service with GCS Service Inc., a provider of food service equipment maintenance and repair services.

Michelle Machado, public service chairperson for Ad2 Tampa Bay, was selected as the Member of the Month for June. Gabe Diazhas been elected president of the of the club; John Austin, vice president and Susanne Beville and Carolyn Trout have been re-elected to their current positions of treasurer and vice-president.

Mark W. Merrill, president of the Florida Family Council, will serve as the council's representative on the Commission on Responsible Fatherhood recently established by the Florida Legislature.

Merrill is the founding president of the council, a non-profit research and education organization dedicated to strengthening the family.

He is an attorney and earned his law degree from the University of Florida.

Judy Kunkel has been appointed to senior loan officer for the production office of Fidelity National Mortgage. She has been in mortgage banking for 14 years.
